INTERMEDIATE LEVEL
This is a one-day training module which is suitable for Capital Planning Officers, their assistants, Mechanical Engineers, Designers and installation engineers/contractors and it is designed to allow these to obtain a basic level of knowledge on the implication of their designs and installation/changes to systems on the Management & Control of Legionellosis across the site.
The syllabus includes:
- Review of the Disease.
- Review of the causative organism.
- Causative organism life cycle and associated environmental requirements.
- Required control measures and appropriate Responsibilities.
- Design and installation/removal considerations on the following:
- Tanks
- Calorifiers
- Distribution systems
- Showers
- Thermostatic mixing valves
- Dental chairs
- Nebulisers
- Ice making machines
- Air handling systems
- Other systems at risk
- WRAS Approved material and their appropriate usage
- Materials and fittings
- Communication requirements between Estates,
Maintenance and Capital Planning and their Contractors.
- Policy and Procedural Documentation.
- Hand-over procedures
- Opening and Closure Procedures.
- Review of current Legionellosis Management & Control
Programme Status at the site.
