INTRODUCTION LEVEL
Each session lasts 45 minutes and it is aimed at end users of facilities such as nurses, domestics, etc., and it is geared to allow these persons to develop an appreciation of the requirements of the Legionellosis Management & Control Programme employed by the Site and to understand their role within this. Each session is repeated upto 5 times in a day to allow for shift changes.
The syllabus includes:
- Review of the Disease and causative organism.
- Causative organism life cycle and associated “outlet flushing” requirements.
- Required control measures currently undertaken by Estates Department.
- Outline and discuss the specific role and task
requirements of each ward staff and form/task completion
instructions.
- Measured Parameters and Recommended limits
- Record Keeping
- Legionellosis Management & Control PPM Specification
